Meet Josh, your study companion

Finish what you started.*

You know how you sign up for a course, mean to finish it, and then life quietly buries it? learningkav is the platform that stops that. Its study companion, Josh, builds a plan around your real week, keeps your courses in one place, and keeps you going — twenty minutes or a full hour, whatever you've got.

Josh building a study plan around your week
A note from the founder

I built learningkav because I kept letting myself down, and then I watched my team do the same thing.

As a master's student I already needed more help staying on track than anything around me offered. It got worse when I started working. For months I'd sign up for a course, set a deadline, and not follow through — and every month I watched the money I'd spent go to waste, made worse by jumping between different platforms and constantly losing my place.

So I built myself one quiet place to study, whatever tools I was using. It worked. I now do about five real hours of learning a week — some days twenty minutes, some days a full hour, but steady, and that's the point.

Then I started paying for courses for my team — Udemy, Frontend Masters, YouTube Premium — and the same problem came back, only now it was the company's money. I was paying for training nobody was using, and I had to chase people, which felt awful, because they genuinely wanted to grow. That's when it clicked: the problem I was trying to solve was the one I was living. For people studying while they work, real support barely exists.

So this is learningkav, powered by Josh. Josh builds a plan around your actual life, keeps you moving whether you've got twenty minutes or a full hour, puts you alongside other people so you're not doing it alone, and does the gentle, consistent follow-up that keeps learning alive. Nobody has to be chased. Over time, learning just becomes how you — or your team — works.

Have a look around. If it sounds like your problem too, I'd love for you to try it.

What learningkav actually does

Let me explain it properly, because it's easy to say "AI study companion" and tell you nothing.

Say you're studying for your ACCA while working full time, and your next exam is ten weeks away. You tell Josh the date. Josh works backwards from it and builds a study plan that fits your real week — not a fantasy schedule where you study three hours every evening, but one shaped around when you actually have time. That plan is broken into weekly milestones, so you always know what "on track" looks like this week, not just by exam day.

Then life happens. You miss a couple of sessions because work ran late or you simply forgot. Normally that's the moment a plan falls apart and you quietly give up. Instead, Josh rebuilds the whole thing around where you actually are now, without any guilt trip. The plan bends so you don't break.

When it's time to study, Josh turns that block into a proper study session inside learningkav. There's a timer to keep you focused, and the resources you're already paying for — the ACCA study hub, a Udemy course, a YouTube video — open in the same place, so you're not losing twenty minutes and all your momentum switching between tabs and logins.

You're not doing it alone, either. Josh can put you in a "circle" with a few other people working towards the same kind of goal, matched around when you're each free. This isn't another group chat that's dead by the second week — Josh keeps it moving. Each week you take stock in a short review, and after each session you jot down a quick reflection and mark where you stopped, so you always come back knowing exactly where to pick up.

And when it gets hard — because it will — Josh has a few things for that: the single smallest next step when the whole thing feels like too much, a short breathing exercise to reset, and a memory of exactly where you left off so coming back is never a cold start.

That's the whole idea: not more content, not more nagging — just steady, kind support that fits a working life, so the learning you paid for actually gets used.

If you're studying while you work

This is for you if you're working towards something on top of a full-time job — a professional qualification like ACCA, CIMA, AAT or CIPD, ongoing CPD you have to log, a certification for work, or a skill you've meant to build for months. You don't need a new pile of courses; you need to finish the ones you've got, without it taking over your life. Josh gives you the plan, the focus, the company, and the follow-through to do exactly that.

If you run a team, or you're in L&D or HR

You're paying for training. learningkav gets it used.

Between the Apprenticeship Levy, professional memberships, course licences and platform subscriptions, UK employers put real money into training every year — and a large share of it is never used. Seats get bought, courses get started, and completion quietly stalls. At renewal you're asked to justify the spend, and all you can really prove is that people logged in once.

learningkav closes that gap. Completions are the floor, not the goal — the real win is utilisation: the training you already pay for actually getting used, week after week. Josh does the consistent follow-up you'd otherwise do by hand. You get a clear view of who's genuinely engaging rather than who merely clicked "complete." And over a few months, as steady learning becomes normal, you get a culture of learning you can point to with numbers behind it. It sits alongside the tools you already have — it doesn't replace your LMS or your content; it's the layer that finally gets them used.

The honest bit: we're early, and I run this on my own team first. So book a short demo, see whether it fits, and start your team when you're ready.

Questions, answered plainly

For learners
What happens if I miss a study session?

Josh rebuilds your plan around where you actually are — no lecture, no guilt. A missed session just means an adjusted week, not a broken plan.

Do I need to buy new courses?

No. Bring the courses, study hubs or platforms you already use — Udemy, a professional body's study hub, YouTube, your own notes. Josh opens them inside your session so you're not losing time to tabs and logins.

How much time do I need each day?

Whatever you've got. Some days it's twenty minutes, some days a full hour. Josh builds the plan around your real week, not a fantasy schedule.

What's a "circle"?

A small group of a few people working towards a similar goal, matched around when you're each free. Josh keeps it moving so it doesn't go quiet after the first week.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Try it free for 21 days, no card required. After that it's £12/month, and you can cancel whenever you like.

For teams & L&D
Does this replace our LMS or existing platforms?

No — learningkav sits alongside what you already have. It doesn't replace your LMS or content; it's the layer that gets it actually used.

What do admins see?

Utilisation — who's genuinely engaging and how consistently — not private reflections or notes, which stay with the learner.

How is pricing structured?

£15 per user per month, exc. VAT. Admin seats are free.

Where is our data stored?

In the UK, under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

How do we get started?
